The Blue Mountain Goats

About Me

About Me

Namaste and welcome to ‘The blue mountain goats’. The picture that you see above of the lovely mountains with a blue hue and a beautiful goat silhouette is a photograph that I would have liked to author but it is not my creation. It is a stock image downloaded from a free stock image sites. The sheer delight of being at a place like this must be exhilarating though. But the decision to quit my CFO job in Nigeria & be back, was strangely not driven by my love to travel but was motivated by thought of putting up my feet & read. A few months down I realised that travel was the real calling of my soul. I wanted to catch up on all the sights, sounds & smells that I missed out on while earning money for an ‘Entrepreneur’ who had entrapped me with money to give me a lifestyle that I found difficult to quit. But now that I have, I don’t miss it. I don’t travel any more to attend budget meetings or stupid team building exercises. No more do I need to bury my nose in my Lap top even as the scenery flits by my taxi window. Everything has changed now, things have slowed down. I relish a leisurely walk, a smile, a Hello, a Namaste, a chai at Dhaba on a cold winter morning, Pranthas at Murthal, a trail through the dense fog of a winter morning. As I sit every morning in my balcony with my tea I am usually welcomed by a song of the Myna & at times there is this band of monkeys on the rooftops looking for food, occasionally there is a pair of peacocks that sit perched on the ledges. Yellow billed sparrows create a rumpus on seeing me & let me know that I need to feed them before sitting down with my cup of tea. All of them have come back to welcome me into the world I was born to live in. More about Rahul
